10-10-2016 - 10 October 2016: ESSC Roadmap published and delivered to EC

The ESSC Steering Committee has successfully finalized the Roadmap Towards European Leadership in Sensor Systems after delivering it to the EC Officials and Officers in order to propose selected topics at high impact for the future H2020 calls (2018–2020) with different TRL at industrial relevance in the field of the sensor–systems, mainly chemical and biological sensors.
Roadmap can be downloaded from the public section DOWNLOADS.
Free registrations of new members to the ESSC webpages are highly welcomed.

12-05-2016 - 12 May 2016: ESSC Session at the AMA Conference 2016

The ESSC, represented by the Chairman and other Steering Committee Members, held a Session devoted to the Novel Sensor Solutions for Indoor Air Quality at the AMA Conference 2016 (10–12 May 2016) during the SENSOR+TEST Trade Fair in order to disseminate this high–impact European Initiative at industrial relevance towards industry community and end–users of the sensor–systems, in Nuremberg (Germany) on 12 May 2016 at Nuremberg Convention Center (NCC), Room Prag (Level 2), session time: 10:00 – 13:00.

06-05-2016 - 6 May 2016: ESSC at the European Materials Research Society (EMRS)

The ESSC, represented by the Chairman, participated to the EMRS Spring Meeting 2016 Symposium X – Functional materials for environmental sensors and energy systems – in order to disseminate the ESSC Roadmap and promote joint–collaborations between ESSC and EMRS in the field of the advanced materials for sensor–system applications, in Lille (France) on 6 May 2016 at Lille Grand Palais.

06-09-2015 - 6–9 September 2015: ESSC at the Eurosensors 2015

The ESSC has organized inside EUROSENSORS 2015 conference two events such as the ESSC Steering Committee Meeting, Tuesday 8 September 2015, session time: 8.30 – 10.00, and the ESSC Session, Wednesday 9 September 2015, session time: 10.30 – 12.30, at the Concert Hall, Freiburg (Germany), 6–9 September 2015, in order to disseminate the vision, objectives, position paper and expected impact of the European Sensor–Systems Cluster (ESSC) at industrial relevance towards the chemical sensors and sensor–systems community. The ESSC, represented by the Chairman and other Steering Committee Members, was invited to deliver Invited Talk at the EuroNanoForum 2015 (10–12 June 2015) in order to disseminate this high–impact European Initiative at industrial relevance towards industry, end–users, stakeholders, academia/research and policy–makers in Riga (Latvia), 10–12 June 2015, at the Hotel Radisson Blu Latvia. High participation, such as 1000 delegates / 100 speakers from 50 Countries, is expected with many workshops, plenary sessions, exhibition, brokerage and matching. The ESSC SC Members congratulate with the winner of the Future Flash Best Project Award for the FP7 project NAMDIATREAM (www.namdiatream.eu): Nanotechnological Toolkits For Multi–Modal Disease Diagnostics And Treatment Monitoring (FP7–NMP–2009–Large–3–246479), coordinated by Prof. Yuri Volkov and Deputy Dr. Adriele Prina Mello (Trinity College Dublin), that is Member of the ESSC, during the EuroNanoForum 2015 (10–12 June 2015).

03-06-2015 - 3–5 June 2015: ESSC at the Roundtable of the COST Action TD1105 Meeting on New Sensing Technologies for Outdoor Air–Pollution Monitoring

The COST Action TD1105 EuNetAir has held the Fourth Scientific Meeting on New Sensing Technologies for Outdoor Air–Pollution Monitoring in Linkoping (Sweden) at the Linköping University on 3–5 June 2015. Many ESSC Members attended there with fruitful discussions on sensors and methods for air quality monitoring. A Roundtable on EC Policy of the EU Clusters: The European Sensor–Systems Cluster (ESSC) was also well–attended from at least 50 persons to discuss on EU research and innovation policy of the clusters. The ESSC, represented by the Chairman and other Steering Committee Members, holds the KICK–OFF MEETING at the AMA Conference 2015 (19–21 May 2015) during the SENSOR+TEST Trade Fair in order to disseminate this high–impact European Initiative at industrial relevance towards industry community and end–users of the sensor–systems, in Nuremberg (Germany) on 19 May 2015 at Nuremberg Convention Center (NCC), Room Tunis, session time: 12:00 – 13:30.

The ESSC, represented by the Chairman, participated to the EMRS Board of Delegates in order to promote joint–collaborations between ESSC and EMRS in the field of the advanced materials for sensor–system applications, in Lille (France) on 14 May 2015 at Lille Grand Palais.

26-03-2015 - 26–27 March 2015: ESSC at the 3rd International Workshop of COST Action TD1105 on New Trends and Challenges for Air Quality Control

The COST Action TD1105 EuNetAir has held the 3rd International Workshop on New Trends and Challenges for Air Quality Control in Riga (Latvia) at the University of Latvia on 26–27 March 2015.
Many ESSC Members attended there with fruitful discussions on sensors and methods for air quality monitoring. A VideoCall of the DG R&I Officer (Hans–Hartmann Pedersen) from Brussels to Riga was also well–attended from at least 50 persons to welcome participants and give more inputs on EU research and innovation policy on clusters. The EC DG R&I invited to participate some EU project/initiative coordinators with Introductory Presentations in the European Sensor–Systems Cluster (ESSC) Preparatory Workshop, hold in Brussels (Belgium), 27 November 2014, at Covent Garden, under organization and management of the EC – DG Research & Innovation – Directorate KET – Unit Advanced Materials and Nanotechnologies.
